The Shore Brace 400 is an Australian Made and engineered hydraulic bracing system designed and developed by client Shore Hire, who first engaged Galserv in late 2018 to discuss an R&D process. The Shore Brace 400 is used across earthworks, construction and development projects in Australia on a for-hire basis with heavy-duty and intricate steel sections requiring hot-dip galvanising.

Due to the environmental conditions in excavation projects and the high repeat use of these items, galvanising was the preferred choice of surface coating for Shore Hire upon consultation with Galserv due to its longevity as a product.

Since the launch of the innovative new system, the fleet totals approximately 250 tonnes of product hot-dip galvanised by Galserv to give each component a long and robust life. As the Shore Brace 400 is a modular system of individual sections in various lengths and configurations, there were numerous technical considerations in its treatment to ensure the correct result.

The highly engineered items required significant technical and design work to ensure a successful outcome. Every item in the fleet must meet exacting specifications to ensure the system can be interconnected, operational and protected from the damp working environment. Galserv provided technical design support regarding drain placement, correct item orientation, and best practices to eradicate galvanising build-up. 

As the product is being used in a heavy industrial space that will be impacted by standard use, only hot-dip galvanising has the strength to deliver the required outcomes for the application. The Galserv team designed and developed a highly effective process to bring this to life for Shore Hire, enabling an Australian Made solution with lasting durability, reducing the carbon footprint associated with the product compared to single-use bespoke steel walers.
