From the past to new possibilities

In 2023, Galserv celebrated 60 years in operation  Over this time, the galvanising industry has changed significantly, as has Galserv. We’ve grown and innovated to both support the needs of our customers.

So, with our 60-year anniversary in mind, let’s take a look at some of the changes that have helped us thrive, and what this means for our customers.

Born of Innovation

Our history dates back to 1963. Founded by Peter Graham, as the Graham Group and Galvanising Services, we’re proud to be one of the first galvanising businesses in Australia. Galserv is also a founding member of the Galvanizers Association of Australia, and industry association that’s still going strong today.

New technology and growth

From our humble beginnings in 1963, we continued to deliver projects for our clients using our original galvanising equipment and processes. That is, until the 1980s ushered in a raft of innovation.

During this time, Galserv introduced new equipment and processes to our plant in Yagoona, empowering us to improve how we did things, and the quality and scale of projects we could deliver for our clients.

A new name, and new opportunities

One of the biggest changes in the business occurred in 2007, when Galserv joined NEPEAN. Together with leading brands Weldlok and Galintel, we formed NEPEAN Building & Infrastructure, opening doors to new possibilities. For our team, and for our clients.

Building our capability

Galserv is built on a strong foundation. And throughout the past 60 years, we’ve seen some exciting growth within the business, too. Today, we have six key areas that help us deliver on our promises to our clients.

Sales & Customer Support

Sales & Customer Support is the first point of contact for our customers. Their role is to understand the needs of our clients, making sure the detailed requirements of each job are correctly captured, and provide support for quoting, advising on lead times, and updates on orders.

Technical & Engineering

Our team includes engineers and project experts  who provide technical guidance and spec support for our clients to ensure you get the right product for your project. After all, our hot dip galvanising services are used for extremely technical, hard-wearing, and precise industries and projects— we’re quality driven.

Scheduling

Our Yagoona facility has been operating since the 1960s, working 24 hours a day, six days a week, servicing the entire greater Sydney area and beyond. Our scheduling department manage and schedule all our hot dip galvanising jobs, to ensure our facility runs smoothly and efficiently, and that our lead times are managed.

Materials Handling & Processing

We’re an extremely busy facility, so we rely on our team of galvanisers, forklift drivers, and crane operators to keep our orders running, and ensure every job is completed efficiently, accurately, and to our high standards.

Logistics, Receiving, & Despatch

Our Logistics, Receiving, & Despatch team makes sure our products get where they need to go, with flexible options available for pickup and unload. They deliver our materials to project sites all over Sydney, while also managing traffic within our own facilities to ensure our pick-up and deliveries are safely and efficiently handled.

QA Inspection & Tag Tracking

We stand by the quality of our work, so our QA team is crucial in ensuring the safety and reliability of our products. Galserv is quality assured to ISO 9001:2008, giving you peace of mind that our materials comply with technical requirements and galvanising standards.
